Outdoor obstacle course with large horizontal green logs supported by small wooden blocks, two vertical white poles with string in a grassy field, and a blue barrel in the background.

Our Technical XC has 31 jumping elements including 40cm, 60cm and 1m banks. We have Skinnies, Banks, Ditches, Water Splash, Barrels, Pigeon Feeders, Sharks Teeth and Tiger Traps as well as portable Jump4Joy Cross Country Jumps

The course was set out by Gemma Kennedy and David Gatherer to create flow and technical lines, allowing riders to practice individual elements then add up. The jumps are between 40cm and 1m but most are currently in the 60-90cm range.

Next year we are opening another Technical XC Field (20 acres) to the south of our new Grazing Land. The field is currently only open for Lessons to control numbers on the ground and get a view of any changes required, while we make finishing touches, allow the grass to repair from where we’ve worked. We hope you will book in for a lesson or two and then come back for hire once we open the hire facility.

Our new Technical XC Field is open for lessons with Gemma Kennedy and Guest Instructors currently. We are hoping to open for hire in the near future.

  • A review from Catriona Umpleby (and Marco 🐴)

“My friend and I came to train over the new cross country facilities at Totleywells and were so impressed by the range and quality of fences available. The set up has a bit of everything from banks, ditches, water splash, skinnies and brushes - we weren’t left short of lines and technical combinations to string together. An excellent practice ahead of the British Eventing Regional Chanpionships and National Championships next month! As ever, the Totleywells team were so welcoming and helpful, we can’t wait to come back!”
